Easter 2025
Kingsmill Easter Egg Hunt

About 400 parents, grandparents, and children gathered at Pavilion Park on Saturday, April 19, to enjoy the annual Kingsmill Easter Egg Hunt. The weather was picture-perfect, with a sunny morning that enhanced the festive atmosphere.
The egg hunt was thoughtfully organized by age group to ensure a safe and fun experience for all. In just five exhilarating minutes, the young participants raced across the fields collecting colorful eggs, each filled with a tiny, tasty treat. Every child left with a basket full of goodies and a big smile.

The event was made possible by the dedication of nine members of the Kingsmill Lifestyles team, chaired by Roxzanne Meisner and led by Charity Sheehy, former KCSA Lifestyles Director. The team arrived early to hide 3,000 eggs, carefully placed throughout the park.
Additional support came from a group of enthusiastic teen volunteers:
  • Reagan Baty, 7th grade, Berkeley Middle School
  • Mady Weaver, 9th grade, Jamestown High School
  • Lily Rind, 8th grade, Berkeley Middle School
  • Lillie Harris, 7th grade, Berkeley Middle School

These teens helped operate the ever-popular photo booth, where children posed with the Easter Bunny, so families could have fun memories of the event. As Reagan Baty noted, “The children’s excitement was adorable and funny.”

This year’s Bunny was brought to life by Sarah Lizarraga, a junior at Jamestown High School, who wore a full bunny costume paired with bright red high-top sneakers. Sarah’s patience and warmth shone through as she posed for dozens of photos with curious and delighted children. About her experience, Sarah said, “I have a passion for volunteering and love to interact with little kids. It was such a fun experience to be part of the magic of making so many kids happy!” [For all the Moms in Kingsmill, Sarah added, “I’m pretty new to the neighborhood and open for babysitting.”]. A heartfelt thank you to Sarah and our teen helpers!

The morning’s fun also included a petting zoo, courtesy of JM Farms from Chesapeake. Children got to meet and interact with a variety of animals including a miniature horse, goats, lambs, and of course, bunnies.

Thanks to all who made this special Kingsmill tradition a joyful success once again!
